LG Innotek Announces World's First Eye-protection LED Light

If the quality of a lighting device is very poor, it is easy for the consumer to use it for a long time. On July 19th, LG Innotek announced that the world's first eye-protection LED lamp, "Eye Pleasing (EP)", was launched. "EP LED" is a new concept LED lighting for eye health. It uses ultra-precision LED chip technology developed by the company to control the wavelength of light. The wavelength of visible light "blue light" from 380 nm to 500 nm (nanometer) can be adjusted.

Blue light in the 415-455 nm wavelength region produces reactive oxygen species in the retina, causing visual fatigue. The "EP LED" can be reduced by up to 60% to 70% compared to sunlight or conventional LEDs. Also, use "EP LED" to create lighting that helps improve cognitive or concentration. It releases a wavelength of 465 to 495 nm that activates the physiological functions of the human body, which is 20% higher than sunlight.

In particular, the "EP LED" can change the color temperature and improve the function. The use of high color temperatures close to the sun in the store or office activates the circadian rhythm, while the use of low color temperature lighting in the lounge or ward gives comfort. Compared to the traditional way of installing filters at the source to reduce unwanted wavelengths, "EP LEDs" can also take advantage of the bright LED illumination to minimize light efficiency and color loss.
